In bloom

Flowers are popping up everywhere, especially after this amazingly early Spring we are getting in Boston this year! I'll take it! Have a great weekend!

'tis the season....

to pack away the heavy winter coats and break out the tiny tweed jacket. I bought two about eight years ago when I worked at a stylish little boutique and I still live in them during the Spring. They pair with almost anything and are well worth the investment. I'm all about buying a few amazing pieces a season. I stayed up too late last night purging my old winter clothes that I haven't worn in years. It was cathartic. I'm done with clutter in my life, purchasing tons of clothes is a waste of money and space! We all wear the same twenty things anyway don't we? Above Image: Elle - France.

A Peek Inside: Dorothee Schumacher's home

There are many things I love about my job, but I'd have to say one of the most rewarding aspects of being an interior designer is capturing my client's personalities with their home design. I want their homes to reflect their style, tastes, interests etc. etc., not mine. Oh, I may recommend an idea that they hadn't thought of (because that's also my job) but I strive to please them throughout the process! I never tire of receiving a call from a thrilled client when they come home to their design installation for the first time!

I always enjoy popping over to the The Selby. He does such an amazing job of not only composing  gorgeous images, but each creative photo captures the essence of the person who resides in the space. I was recently drawn to the home of fashion designer Dorothee Schumacher. (Also, take a peek at her fashion site, her creations are beautiful). (photographs by: Todd Selby)

Yowza - look at her closet!

I also loved her answer to The Selby's last interview questionnaire.

Rag and Bone bootie

In case you were curious about Clairborne's amazing boots in yesterday's post, I thought I'd share some information. I think they look like the Rag and Bone version below. R + B just opened a shop on Newbury St. in Boston, so I'm pretty excited about that. These boots are definitely on my "wish list". Madewell also has a pretty close version for about half the price! (I also think Aldo has knocked off the Rag and Bone Newbury bootie.)
